Desso Lita carpet tiles 

Desso Lita is arguably the hardest wearing carpet tile around. A needled felt pile, it is perfect for heavy, commercial use, hence its popularity in the rental market and at exhibitions and events. The versatile Lita is available in a wide variety of vibrant colours. This carpet tiles is perfect for the ATHENA in Leicester as it needs a carpet that is glamorous but that is extremely hard wearing due to the amount of foot traffic.

ATHENA Leicester

Athena is a conferencing and banqueting venue in the heart of the new cultural quarter of Leicester City Centre, in the United Kingdom.

We were approached by the Athena to match there existing carpets that had worn so well over the years. We identified this carpet to be Desso Lita.

The works were taken place on the upper tier of the building and was approx 550m2.

The owner of Athena has extremely good taste and identified quickly what he wanted. He decided to have the black colour down the middle stair case and the red on each platform in a chequer board design.

A very testing project

Everything about this project was difficult.

The uplift of the old carpet tiles was extremely tough, with machines and strong labourers it was still a struggle, but we still managed to uplift and remove the tiles in the time frame that we had set.

The odd shape of the platforms made each cut of tile testing and slow but we soon found a routine and got up to speed quickly.

This project was completed in 6 days with some of them days being 16 hour days to meet the deadline set.

When we completed I don’t think that I have ever been so proud of my team, this was a tough job but they really shown there commitment to me and DCS Flooring with there commitment to me.

The owner of ATHENA made a point of saying how professional we were and how much he liked the way we went about our business.

Ive been involved in a lot of jobs but this job is right up there for being one of my proudest!
