Bodega Cantina Restaurant in Leicester City Centre
Bodega Cantina is a South American-themed bar and restaurant situated in St Martin’s Square serving a range of classic Peruvian and Ecuadorian inspired food along with street classics.
DCS Flooring worked for the main contractor who was working in association with Birmingham-based Faber Design and Architecture on behalf of the owners, Bitters ‘N’ Twisted Venues, who invested £200,000 in the redevelopment project.
This exciting new restaurant has created 15 new jobs in the heart of Leicester City Centre.
This project had a large proportion of demolition work as the premises were changed from a retail outlet to a modern, funky restaurant in just 7 weeks.
This was a typical fast track job, having been set the task of completing the job in time to handover to the client promptly, enabling them to meet their grand opening date deadline.
Our work was during week 7 of the project and on day 1 (Monday) I was worried that we were going to be no where near finished for the Friday (hand over day). The site seemed as though it was behind and was still crowded with all the trades.
We have been in this position many times and you just have to get your head down and do what you can to meet the deadline. Its jobs like this that your staff show there true colours. I am lucky to have a good group of fitters that will work around the clock to ensure that give 110% to meet any handover no matter what the situation is.
Karndean Flooring at Bodega
The flooring choice throughout the two floors and staircase of Bodega Restaurant was Karndean.
We used the VAN GOGH range and the colour was salvaged redwood. This floor really worked with the theme of the restaurant. This floor has a deep scorching effect of Salvaged Redwood which beautifully highlights the distinctive knot and grain details of this design. The dark floor worked great with the use of colour in the restaurant.
There was a total of 160m2 of Karndean flooring on this project.
ALTRO Walkway Flooring at Bodega
We installed Altro Walkway flooring in the kitchen and behind the bar.
This is a very popular choice that is quite cost effective and always performs as it should.
We recommended the ‘whale’ colour which is a mid grey and always looks great in kitchens with the stainless steel appliances.
